The 2017 edition was officially included in the programme of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, benefitting from partnerships with the Consulate General of Italy, the Italian Cultural Institute, Consorzio del Lambrusco di Modena and Consorzio dell’aceto balsamico tradizionale di Modena DOP.
The format ‘tells the story’ of products and the land of which they are an expression, how they are interpreted in gastronomy, and food and wine pairings.
Under a partnership with the Consulate General of Italy, the products presented will be interpreted in dishes prepared by two professional chefs from the Region of Emilia Romagna, the Italian region with the most protected geographic denominations of origin recognised under the CETA free trade agreement between the European Union and Canada, which provisionally went into effect in September.
The partnership with the two producers’ consortia from Emilia Romagna enriches and completes the Masterclass programme.
In addition to speakers identified by Assocamerestero/Aicig, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada has involved a local expert with Italian roots who is a passionate fan of Italy’s denominations of origin and an innovator on the local restaurant scene with a special vocation for Italian food.
More than 60 participants, including top influencers and the media as well as the trade (importers, distributors), restaurant owners, chefs and sommeliers.
