A masterclass dedicated entirely to Italian wine was organised by the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce West in the International Culinary School at the Art Institute  in San Diego.

Giammario Villa, a sommelier, teacher and wine expert, guided the lesson focused on the history of the main Italian grape varieties and on the ones that are particularly rare and still little known in the United States. The students of the International Culinary School, local chefs and the Chefs De Cuisine Association of San Diego, who took part in the masterclass, were able to learn about the characteristics and the tasting and pouring techniques of the five wines subject of the lesson. These wines, which are all from the region of Emilia Romagna, were accompanied by five Italian cheeses.
